Supporting FAB CE

Racing to the Finish Line: supporting FAB CE in meeting the 2012 deadline

In an effort to reach the deadline for implementing a FAB (Functional Airspace Block) in Central Europe by 2012, the FAB CE initiative partners has applied for funding from the European Commission via the TEN-T Executive Agency (TEN-T EA). With support from APAC, the FAB CE project has successfully secured EU funding. Currently, Austrocontrol, as the coordinator of this project, has contracted APAC to continue its support by helping draft the official funding decision and by providing an interface between the project partners and the TEN-T EA.

APAC has already gained experience in supporting FAB CE’s management of past EU funding received from the European Commission/TEN-T EA. As coordinator, Austrocontrol contracted APAC to act as the quality gate vis-à-vis the TEN-T EA, ensuring that requirements were fulfilled, deadlines were met and milestones were achieved.
